Randon expands production capacity with a focus on the Brazilian market of bodies-on-frame. The inauguration of the final assembly operations of this type of vehicle in Paulínia (SP), in the second half of last year, was the most recent move of the OEM business vertical to serve the market, which exceeded 70 thousand units in 2022, according to data from the National Association of Road Implement Manufacturers (Anfir).
In addition, the industrial unit dedicated exclusively to the manufacture and assembly of on-frame product lines, inaugurated in the city of Messias (AL) in 2021, is part of the cycle of expansions of productive capacity. Installed next to the distributor Rodoap, initially to serve the strategic market of the Northeast region, the plant will concentrate all the production of bodies-on-frame of the company from this year.
According to the CEO of the OEM Division of Randon Companies, Sandro Trentin, the opening of the assembly unit in Paulínia, with logistics optimization efforts to receive production from Alagoas, accelerates the offer to the Southeast, the main purchasing region of the country.
"The size of the market for bodies-on-frame in Brazil resembles that of semi-trucks, and we saw the great potential for resuming this business in the country. The operations in Paulinia and Messias are strategic for this movement. We are optimistic about the growth prospects of this volume for 2023 and for the coming years", he highlights.
The final assembly and coupling in the truck takes place both in Paulínia and in other points of the Randon Distributor Network throughout the country. Strategic partnerships, with companies specialized in this type of operations, made the it possible.
Currently, Randon's portfolio serves about 70% of the national market of on-frame. The main product is the General Cargo Van Body. In 2022, the manufacture of Refrigerated Bodies and Dump Bodies began. The company also manufactures Beverage Truck Bodies and Dry Cargo Bodies
